CEO of Swedish property site stepping down

After five years, Carl-Henrik Borg, the Chief Executive Officer of leading Swedish property website,, is stepping down and the search is already underway to find his successor

Carl-Henrik Borg, CEO of Sweden’s leading property website,, is stepping down at the end of July.

Mr Borg has served as Chief Executive Officer since January 2009 and has helped website traffic double to up to 2.1million unique visitors a week. A search is currently underway for his successor.

Mr Borg says, “I am very thankful for my time at Hemnet and proud of what we have achieved together. It has been a privilege, along with talented employees, to build Hemnet into Sweden’s largest housing site. We have jointly achieved all the goals we set when I started and it feels like a natural time to hand over.”

When Mr Borg began work, Hemnet had just two employees and it now has 45. Turnover has risen from SEK22million (US$3.36million) to SEK120million (US$18.3million) in 2013 and its unique visitor numbers have doubled.

Hemnet Chairman, Per Johnler, who is leading the search for a new CEO, says, “Carl-Henrik is a highly skilled and well-liked business leaders and during his five years as president he strongly contributed to making Hemnet the market leader. We wish him all the best in his new challenges.”

Hemnet press officer, Staffan Tell, has told OPP Connect, “The search is already on for a successor. We are not sure how long it will take to find someone to fit the profile.”

Mr Borg joined Hemnet after founding the company WebAnalys Sitefaction AB, which is currently owned by Aegis. He wants to continue this entrepreneurial work and help search marketing consultants Digital Online Broker, online design company, and mobile games site,, in Gothenburg. current attracts around 1.7 million unique visitors a week but, as OPP Connect previously reported, the site hit a new record of 2.1million in March. was founded in 1998 and is owned by two of Sweden’s real estate agencies and two top industry bodies.
